During his address at the VIII New Silk Way International Transport and Logistics Business Forum, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the strategic importance of the new railway line

He emphasized that the Dostyk–Moyynty line is a crucial infrastructure project that will significantly boost the development and efficiency of Kazakhstan’s transport and logistics system. The President recalled that 35 years ago, the launch of the Dostyk–Alashankou project became a historic milestone, linking the railways of Kazakhstan and China. Veterans who took part in its construction were invited to the ceremony, and the Head of State expressed his deep gratitude to them.

President Tokayev also noted that Kazakhstan holds vast potential in the transport and logistics sector, which he described as a driving force of the economy and a key factor in strengthening international ties. He underlined Kazakhstan’s role as a historic bridge between China and Europe, stressing that the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, announced in 2013 in Kazakhstan, fully aligns with the country’s national interests.

“The second line of the Dostyk–Moyynty railway stands as a vivid example of our active contribution to this initiative,” the President stated.
